secretsundaze have been celebrating their 10th anniversary across the whole of summer 2011 with a string of sellout parties, a new 12" label and also their new double CD compilatiion "10 Years of secretsundaze" mixed by residents Giles Smith and James Priestley out just a few weeks ago. Saturday 27th and Sunday 28th August sees their 10th season celebrations peak in the form of 2 parties over 2 days at venues to be announced for the official 10th Birthday. This will be the first time secretsundaze have done a "weekender" so we are very excited at the prospect. Being the 10th birthday we are putting increased emphasis on production values across both parties so expect the usual high quality sound plus lots of other special touches that will make this a weekend to remember.

Joining Sundaze for Part 1 of their birthday bonanza will be Rolando. Rolando has been on their radar for many years with his tracks being no less than anthems for us, but despite a few close calls it has taken until now to confirm him! Growing up in the latin quarter of Detroit he was exposed to music from an early age with his father being in a Mexican band. Combining these latin influences with the city's first love Techno made an explosive combination evident in his tracks "Birth 3000" and "Quetzal" as Los Hermanos and of course his biggest hit "Knights of The Jaguar" as Rolando. "Birth 3000" particularly has been huge at secretsundaze over the years, coming out in 2004 but still being a staple in Giles' sets to this day with its epic and hypnotic vibe. Rolando has maintained his relevance and has forged a strong relationship with Berghain in Berlin, playing at the club regularly and also releasing on their seminal label Ostgut Ton as well as recent killer remixes for Skudge (included on our new secretsundaze comp) and for London's Phonica records affiliated Local Action imprint. Make way for one of the true giants of modern techno!
