New Music Festival Hits Bulgarias Slopes

The UKs hottest acts will be heading to Europes coolest slopes for the first ever Horizon Festival; a hedonistic week of underground Electronic music, set against the breathtaking, snow- ?covered Pirin mountains of south western Bulgaria. 

This unique music experience will transform Bulgarias premier winter sports resort, Bankso, a hotbed of nightlife in itself, into a festival lovers dream, from 23rd – ? 29th March 2013. Horizon Festival offers 6 nights of parties featuring cutting edge producers and DJs from across the UK playing music across the electronic spectrum from Dubstep to 80s House, Techno to Garage & Dance to Hip Hop. If the music isnt enough, Horizon also offers the tantalising prospect of over 70 kilometres of quality ski slopes to explore, with enough drop and run to satisfy the most dedicated powder enthusiasts. 

Every day from noon to dusk an exciting mix of underground DJs will host mountain raves in bars across the slopes – ? descend from party to party, catching the stimulating sounds of Future Garage from Dark Sky or dance floor friendly Disco from Casino Times, strains of heady, ethereal bass music from Maribou State or Phaelehs inimitable style of cinematic electronic music. Discover favourite acts and secret shindigs along the way and party into the early hours each night with the best value Aprs ski that any slopes have to offer; with such low prices throughout Banksos countless nightclubs and bars (beers cost 2), theres no reason to go to bed! 

Horizon is the only entirely DJ- ?led snow festival of its kind and partygoers can expect to hear plenty of forward- ?thinking electronic music throughout the week. Curated by one of the Co- ?Founders and Director of Croatias Outlook and Dimensions festivals, Jack Robinson, the line up includes industry favourites such as Alex Arnout & Klose One, as well as relatively new to the scene and undiscovered acts like Route 94. Unlike its eye wateringly expensive Alpine counterparts, Horizon Festival provides fantastic value for money, with packages that include accommodation, ski pass and festival pass, starting at just 256 per person. With easy resort transfers and plenty of direct flights available from the UK to Sofia, Horizon is an effortless, economical and exhilarating way to finish the ski season in style and the perfect option for Easter holidays.

Flights 

Frequent daily flights to Sofia from Manchester, Stansted, Heathrow, Gatwick and Luton. This route is serviced by EasyJet, British Airways, Bulgaria Air & Wizz Air.
Ryan Air flies to Plovdiv from Stansted twice a week
Horizon will be an affiliate to Skyscanner 

Transfers/Transport 

Bankso is 3hours from both Sofia and Plovdiv Airports.
Transfers are available between both airports Friday- ?Sunday only. Transfers cost 40 return.
Guests will be contacted 1 month prior to the event to confirm flight numbers and pick up times.
There are also public bus services available from Sofia

Bankso 

Bansko is the most popular and modern ski resorts in Eastern Europe and boasts a lively nightlife. The resort is located approximately 160km from the countries capital Sofia. Bansko is situated at the foot of the Pirin Mountains (UNESCO World Heritage since1983), which offers a beautiful backdrop to this traditional and culturally rich town.
