Rinse, the UKs legendary radio station and record label, is set to celebrate 17 years at the hub of Londons thriving underground music community, with a monumental birthday blow out to be held at O2 Brixton Academy on 8th October 2011.

For almost two decades, Rinse FM has been pumping uncompromising music out of its east London heartland, built by the community for the community. Since its inception Rinse has engaged massively under-represented communities, championing the diverse needs of Londons youth and those passionate about youth-orientated music culture. Rinse has acted as a focal point for successive musical waves, from jungle to UK garage, dubstep to grime, now funky and beyond. 

Through its transmissions, nights, releases and compilations it has inspired a community of producers, DJs and MCs to collaborate and create music they want to hear. The results speak for themselves. Volunteer DJs and MCs have won Mercury Prize awards and nominations for numerous others, gold discs in recognition of sales as well as widespread critical acclaim. 

Rinses 17th birthday party is testament to their existence as a vital, unique and exceptionally successful gateway into broadcast radio and the wider music industry. With a massive line-up over 3 rooms, Rinse will showcase the diverse musical talent that they have given a first platform to. This is your chance to engage with the Rinse community and their fiercely grass-roots ethos at first hand with performances from the likes of Skream, Ms Dynamite, Roll Deep, Oneman, Jamie George, Ellijah and Skiliam, Floating Points and many more.
