Grooveschool Raise Money For Dj Workshops In London And Beyond

Art & Culture

Grooveschool is a charity project running out of South London. Whilst it's hard to put 'DJ' and 'charity' in the same sentence without coming over all Smashy & Nicey, Grooveschool are actually providing a decent service, putting on DJing and music tech workshops for skint kids around South London, with a few fairly well known names (Terry Francis and Nathan Coles are both onboard) giving their time for free. Putting their money where their mouth is, the school also give the kids attending their classes the chance to play gigs. Given the massive cost of an industry standard Pioneer CDJ set up, we're glad someone is opening doors for new talent to break through – the alternative increasingly being a world where we get to hear Paris Hilton play shite day and night.

On Friday 5th December 2014, Grooveschool and We Love Vinyl collaborate on their main fundraiser of the year –  “The Big One”  – at the Prince of Wales venue in Brixton. Expanding their existing Friday night involvement at the Prince Of Wales Brixton Boogaloo, they now take over all three rooms. All of the ticket sales and donations from the evening will go directly towards the various community projects for young people provided by Grooveschool.

Check the flyer below for more details, and grab tickets from here. You can find out more about Grooveschool and the projects they're involved in on their website.
