PREVIEW: Fyf Festival 2016

Art & Culture

Primavera might be long gone but fans of an urban festival still have a treat in store in the form of the epic FYF fest in Los Angeles. Now in it's 12th year it's grown to take over Exposition Park, a mammoth space created to host the Olympics years ago and seemingly one of the few former Olympic venues being put to good use! A big venue in this case means a mammoth selection of bands to look forward to, and some stellar headliners too. Where else can you see LCD Soundsystem side by side with Grace Jones and Kendrick Lamar?

Alleged crystal thief Father John Misty will also be on the bill and there are further smooth grooves courtesy of Mac de Marco and Blood Orange. Never fear if you like your music rocking, raw and heavy though Ty Segall and Shellac will take care of that for you.

It's not just bands on offer though, if last years was anything to go by this festival is one major Instagram opportunity from chances for selfies with the snapchat ghost to custom murals created by local artists too and if you're feeling crafty you can enter a poster making contest too.

Food wise they're also bussing in LA's finest food trucks, so you can take a pit stop for everything from ceviche and sushi to pupusas and of course mac and cheese.

If that's not enough to convince you, there's a full list of all artist's here and for any brits  or east coasters reading this zero chance of rain. Bag your tickets here before it's too late.
