Fly By Night presents

Art & Culture

The Nest welcomes new London residency, Fly By Night, into its basement brickwork on 21st October. The brainchild of DJ/producers Toby Tobias and Pete Herbert, Fly By Night is set to bring together special guests and residents with a laid back house and deep disco mentality for a night of rough cuts selections from yesteryear up to the present day.

The launch sees The Revenge take to The Nest’s sound system for a night of original house cuts and vintage disco, boogie and soul edits. Scotland’s Graeme Clark may be known for his laid-back approach to house music, but his career has gone into overdrive this year. First there was One Night in the Borough, the debut album from his duo 6th Borough Project, with his partner Craig Smith. Now, under his alias The Revenge, he’s set to drop Reekin’Structions on Joey Negro’s Z Records. Ever on a creative flex, and always ready to create a storm on the dance floor, The Revenge will be the sonic shining light to the 21st October proceedings.

Toby Tobias and his modern funk and disco creations found an unexpectedly tech/house home at the Rekids imprint a few years back. Working hard to finish his second album for the label, as well as turning in singles for Quintessentials, International Feel and Moore Music, Toby only takes to the decks of the most interesting and forward-thinking venues in the country and we’re excited to see what he’ll bring to his Nest debut on 21st. Fellow resident Pete Herbert has also been busy in the studio with remixes for the likes of Apiento, The Glimmers and Penguin Prison to name but a few; he’s more than geared up to bring some deep and groovy disco swagger to the party.

Kiwi’s stock is rising on a national scale since his various stints at the biggest dance music festivals this year. With a penchant for those irresistible honey-infused vocals and slomo grooves inherent in deep disco house, and a deck facing, throwback dance style that’ll have everyone smiling, Kiwi completes an already stellar line-up for Fly By Night’s first outing.
