Guess what?? ?It's DURRR's 5th birthday, and they're throwing the mother of all parties to celebrate, with electro-noise merchants Factory Floor, art-rock band Muscles of Joy, DJ Fnord and of course, the half-decade-old resident DJs Rory Phillips and The Lovely Jonjo.? ?Factory Floor – The post-industrial trio have been honing their craft for a while now and kudos is due for their mini-album, Talking on Cliffs (released 2009) and an untitled mini-LP (released 2010) which led the NME to describe it as "a terrifying racket that simultaneously frazzles the nerves and slackens the bowels". Since then, they've hooked up with Stephen Morris, who's currently producing the band, who released singles last year with Optimo and DFA. They'll be bringing their post-apocalyptic noise-rock to DURRR.
?Muscles of Joy are an all-female collective from Glasgow, bringing together the aspects of the eclectic music and arts scenes that the city is famed for. The seven-piece band formed after meeting at The Parsonage – an alternative choir who's love for Joy Division and Jefferson Airplane sets them apart from traditional holier-than-thou singing groups – and the ladies of Muscles released their self-titled EP in 2011. Expect bewitching choral arrangements, home-made instruments and spoken word harmonies when they hit the stage.? ?
