It was time to focus.

Walking through the night he watched as the cars whizzed on by, each presumably with a destination in the darkness up ahead.

He had to concentrate.

The sound of the engines struggled under the strain. The wheels turning frantically under pressure.

The end was nigh. For soon it would be daylight and all of the misgivings of the black haze would be forgotten.
