Ace, elastic IDM post-Kraut from Optimo and Hoga Nord associates. Berlin-based duo Rudolf Abramov return with their latest track launching the Aquasonic Records label

The Ballad of Rudolf and the Aquasonic Sea

There once was a Rudolf Abramov so keen, Who sailed to High Japan in a synth-powered machine, With hi-hats a-snapping and frequencies lost, Through Shibuya’s neon lights, all dreamy and tossed.

He founded Aquasonic with modular heat, Where kraut-dub goes swimming with post-club beat, The divers dance downward through saltwater sound, While broken funk bubbles rise up from the ground.

“Oh Optimo! Oh Höga!” he cried to the sea, “My label shall drift where the deep frequencies be!” The Berlin-born imprint swam round and around, Till hypnotic melodies made a most curious sound.

With half-eye wide open and pulse off-kilter, He mixed up nostalgia through memory’s filter, The studio compass spun round like a top, From subaquatic rhythms that never did stop.

So remember dear Rudolf, that aquatic fellow, Who made music as blue as the ocean’s own bellow, In High Japan waters, so salty and free, He founded his label beneath the deep sea!

After pushing the envelope on labels like Optimo Music and Höga Nord, Berlin-based duo Rudolf Abramov return with their latest outing “High Japan,” which launches Aquasonic Records, the new label founded by the duo.

“High Japan” captures a late-night drift through neon-lit streets, combining broken funk, modular synths, and hypnotic melodies into something that defies easy categorization.  The track introduces Aquasonic Records, a Berlin-based imprint focused on music that “operates outside conventional genre boundaries and algorithmic listening patterns.”

Curating artists working across subaquatic kraut-dub to post-club sounds, celebrating musicians who don’t fit traditional moulds. Aquasonic connects music with marine life through collaborations with divers, pairing releases with underwater footage while supporting ocean conservation efforts.
