Premiere: Casino Times – Lower Level Sounds Ep – Futureboogie

We love the new Lower Level Sounds EP from Casino Times so much that we're premiering the whole damn thing… Over 4 tracks of sublime, deep techno, Nicolas Church and Joseph Spencer pack in references to Carl Craig, Rolando and Larry Heard across an EP that shimmers and glows, glinting with techno's utopian promise. There's an indefinable right-ness to the tracks – it's not so much that Casino Times are relying on flashy, gimmicky sound design or awkward, zeitgeist jumping rhythms, more that they have a confidence with their material that allows it to breathe. This is proper, heads techno, and a welcome reminder of the emotion and power the genre can deliver.

The EP sees a release through Futureboogie on December 8th – on the strength of ‘Lower Level Sounds’, we expect to hear a lot more from Casino Times over the coming year….
