First View: Zoon van snooK – Teotihuacan
Today marks the release of a new single from long time friend and Ransom Note collaborator Zoon van snook who last year released his album “Separacion” on Lo Recordings.
The album was well received and showcased a breadth of takes and approaches to ambient, classical and electronica. It featured carefully curated field recordings harvested in South and Central America in 2018 and shone a light on an alternative side fo Zoon’s musical outlook.
“Teotihuacan” is the second single taken from the album and is spotlighted alongside a video directed by Sam Wisternoff for Ill Spectre Productions.
The music is thematically based around one particular field recording – a Mesoamerican flute played at the ancient site of the Pyramids of the Sun and Moon, replete with natural reverb bouncing between the ancient structures.
