Alan Ripped In Glasgow was so flattered we still love his amazing blog… that he's started curating the week on Ripped In Glasgow for us… as opposed to us wholesale ripping it off!
Here we go:
This week has mostly been about the return of Primal Scream. I have been ripping the various versions of 2013 which have been appearing over the course of the week, but the best quality version doing the rounds is the full-length track on Vimeo –
Check that sax! David Holmes on production duties and half of MBV on duty to boot. Roll on the More Light album…
Tomorrow night (22 Feb) sees the return of ALFOS's monthly sister-club Crimes Of The Future to Glasgow’s Berkeley Suite. Hosts Scott Fraser and Timothy J Fairplay (them of the ‘Axis’ fame) are joined by legendary production duo Plaid playing live.
Check the flyer here..RiG Towers has been reverberating to the sound of the Scott Fraser Clandestino podcast to get in the mood.
The show should be just the ticket after mental-looking new Rob Zombie film at Glasgow Film Festival's Frightfest beforehand…
Other highlights on the Facebook page have been a new
Ivan Smagghe mix on Pulse radio,
the excellent new Mugwump track ‘Parallel Lifetimes (Let’s Play House)’
Le Carousel’s ‘Lose Your Love’ with sparkly downloadable Weatherall remix.
All this and more on the
Ripped In Glasgow Facebook Group. –> I made a slight fuck-up with the security settings and the page now appears as an un-undoable ‘secret’ one, but if you post a comment below I’ll sort something out if you want to sign up. There’s
50Gb worth of Mega drive sitting there for the taking as well…
