Sutja’s Metaphysical Circus #18

Music

walking down
the streets of some
fancy old town
lots of
cute / perfectly made
girls
all around
and
I am a strange specimen
I know
and
nobody seems
to notice
my presence
(how will they notice my absence?)

I am misplaced,
I was misplaced
damn
it’s been more than
a year
and I’m still lost
and I am back
as cancer comes back
I am
half man
half shark

Karin Krog - Maiden Voyage

Lovely and enigmatic Karin Krog… I discovered this Norwegian singer through her album alongside Steve Kuhn, “We Could Be Flying” which is an absolute masterpiece. She has a very special voice and a wonderful style. Check her videos!

  • Old Boot Wine-Spirogyra

In 1969, Martin Cockerham and Mark Francis joined forces with Bar- bara Gaskin, Julian Cusack and Steve Borrill to expand a project they both created back in 1967 called Spirogyra – which previously was just a duo band. In 1973 they released Bells, Boots And Shambles on Polydor and, as far as I know, it didn’t worked as well as they expected.

  • Pan - To Get Along Alone

A very classy album from the Danish band Pan. Founded by Arne Wu?rgler and Robert Lelie?vre. Robert was escaping from military service in Europe at that time. Sadly, he committed suicide in 1973.

  • "Satori Part 2" (1971) - Flower Travellin' Band

This wild thing was made by the Japanese band Flower Travellin’ Band. It sounds like an early Black Sabbath with a kind of a different touch that I re- ally love. Flower Travellin’ Band started as a side project of Yuya Uchida from FLOWERS – alongside George Wada, Hideki Ishima and Joe Yamanaka.

  • Folk Crusaders - Magical Mystery Camel

Fo?kuru! Short lived band also from Japan. They only released two albums (which I wish I had in my hands), Harenchi and ?????. Their song “Kaette Kita Yopparai” sold more than a million of copies and was awarded with a gold disc

  • Lazarus' Bra - Passivity Won't Change The World (Germany 1972)

Passivity won’t change a damn thing! Holy truth! Lazarus’ Bra was formed by Peter Schmidt, Klaus Assmann, Uwe Scheffler, Hans-Ju?rgen Maik and Bernd Hadeler back in 1970. They only recorded one 7” Single. The B side is also wonderful!

  • Black Mass (Electric Storm In Hell) - White Noise, 1969

What else can I say! I wrote an article about The White Noise. It’s one of my favourite bands of all time. Check the whole thing, it’s timeless music!

  • Mina - Ebb Tide (1966)

This is one of my favs from the italian soprano singer Mina Mazzini also known as Mina. She’s such a powerful woman. – her voice, style, presence, per-
sonality… She was very well known in the 60’s and 70’s and she’s still active!
