Ricardo Tobar – Influences
Born in Chile and raised in France, Ricardo Tobar is a man who appreciates a genuine slice of culture. His latest release Collection once more highlights his level of attention to detail and the calm, composed manner in which he approaches the creation of his music. It sees him dive head-first into musical experimentation, resulting in a sound that's unmistakable his own. Ahead of the album's release, he talks us through some of the aural delights that have inspired him and his sound throughout the years.
Collection is out via Cocoon Recordings on 8th May.
It’s difficult to put only ten songs that have inspired my music so I decided to put everything I’m listening at the moment. This one from Michael Bundt is the perfect start, it’s essential in every aspect: the arpeggio, the sound, the melodies. It makes you forget everything and liberates expansion and creativity. Amazing.
