Marco Bernardi – Influences

Music

The Glasgow born and Bristol based producer Marco Bernardi has been making his mark for some time, koncking out a string of Detroit shaped techno killers through labels such as Crème Organisation, Planet E, Royal Oak, White Noise and Futureboogie. He's about to kick things off once more with a fresh EP for Berlin label Klasse – listen to and pre order it's electronic modulations, stabbing synths and punchy rippling percussion over here.

Autechre- Bike

Without a doubt one of the first tracks of the phenomenal Autechre that got me hooked into Warp and “experimental” electronica…I was obsessed at that time about trying to get my 606 that clear in a mix like within this track…and after 20 years of trying I still cant get my fuckin snares to sound as good as they sound on this record…..

  • Lfo - Lfo

This track/album seriously influenced me in my octogen stage of my life…it made me buy a dx100 purely for that classic “wood piano” sound that features on mostly every detroit record in the 90,s..it also featured on mostly every track of mine in the 90,s ….probably due to this record..

  • Underground Resistance - Afrogermanic - Ur045.

Ooohhhhhh I SO FUCKIN LOVE THIS TRACK !!!!!!!! a massive influence on my electro style of writing for labels such as frustrated funk and most recently Brokntoys….I could fill this list full of UR tracks as they are without a doubt the biggest influence EVER on myself and probably most other producers who were writing underground machine music in the 90,s

  • Rhythm & Sound W/ Tikiman - Never Tell You (Hq)

There are so many tracks I could also pick in this dub techno genre but you get the idea with this track…although it didn’t influence me as such in my productions it was still a big part of my listening when growing up

  • Voltaic - Oxidize

This is a heads up to the people in Glasgow who know who is behind Voltaic….i fuckin loved these guys when i lived in Glasgow..they were so young and it came across in their productions…full of energy and great beats and synth lines…one of them now has went on to HUGE success….get yir anoraks oot…and check out there releases on point one.

  • Dopplereffekt Sterilization

This was one of the tracks i took swedures to going to Paisley with my mate Browny…we used to dance like fuck to this track in his White MR2 especially when the noize after the bassline came in…(similar to the bohemian rhapsody clip in that shit film)..i have very fond memories attached to this tune.

  • Legowelt Boiler Room London Dj Set

There are far too many tracks of Mr Wolfers that completely hit the mark for me..i could list hundreds of them ..his live set and his releases for me are just simply incredible..i am not jumping on the current “yeah legowelt is amazing” bandwagon here i have always been a super fan of his for many years !!!

  • Carlos Adolfo Dominguez - Boobies

Without a doubt the biggest inspiration out of all of the above…without this track my music would be nothing !!!
