Influences: Leonardo Martelli
The diversity which exists within Antinote is vast and far reaching. In 2016 the label has soared to new heights with releases coming from Tolouse Low Trax, Mind Lotion, Inoue Shirabe, and D.K.
However, one of the most intriguing new signings to the label comes on the form of Leonardo Martelli who recently released his debut LP with the French based crew. Drawing upon eclectic samples and a diverse musical heritage Leonardo's music sees him create a stylish take on modern day electronic music as he incorporates layered smokey textures alongside the electro most commonly associated with Detroit's formative musical roots. The album saw him deliver across seven tracks, what turned out to be a very original approach. We caught up with Leonardo to talk influences…

I choose this track for its powerful simplicity. The dramatic melody and the minimalist electro drums thrust me out into another deep and dark dimension where no one can reach me. This place is where I emerge when I’m in production.
