The diversity which exists within Antinote is vast and far reaching. In 2016 the label has soared to new heights with releases coming from Tolouse Low Trax, Mind Lotion, Inoue Shirabe, and D.K.

However, one of the most intriguing new signings to the label comes on the form of Leonardo Martelli who recently released his debut LP with the French based crew. Drawing upon eclectic samples and a diverse musical heritage Leonardo's music sees him create a stylish take on modern day electronic music as he incorporates layered smokey textures alongside the electro most commonly associated with Detroit's formative musical roots. The album saw him deliver across seven tracks, what turned out to be a very original approach. We caught up with Leonardo to talk influences…

Andy Stott - Hatch The Plan

One minute of rough noise and then Mr Stott plays with beautiful vocals and a dub techno drum. The best track of Luxury Problems (and one of the best song i’ve ever heard).

Probably the first real contact with good music. I played this game when I was 13 on my Playstation. I remember a particular part of the game, the song starts and the suspense is really engaging.

When I was 10 I remember stealing some cds with movies and one of this was Delitto sull’autostrada. An “italian-crime-trash” movies. I don’t recommended this movie for the story (really really bad) but only for its trash-vintage-funny soundtrack.

In the beginning of my production, I had a lot of artists that I drew upon for inspiration. One of these was Actress. The lord of sampling in electronic music. I want to share this track from the “Splazsh” album because sampling Prince and making this beauty is not for all.
