Influences: Brackles

Music

Moving forward through the murky depths of bass music, Brackles has left a firm imprint upon a musical scene ever prone to change. Labels such as Planet Mu, Blunted, Apple Pips and Rinse have become the staple home of his music which sits somewhere between dubstep, garage and electronic soundscapes. Now, notoriuosly known for his intricacy when dj'ing he is inclined to sway more towards the early roots of garage. It is in his fast paced, energetic dj sets which he has gathered his reputation. He takes us through influences below…

Brackles will appear at Field Maneuvers this weekend HERE. Follow Brackles on Facebook HERE

Anthill Mob - Was She Ever Mine?

Elgato played this one at FM last year and it got the perfect reaction. I love watching the crowd build up on the pianos just before the drop.

Elgato played this one at FM last year and it got the perfect reaction. I love watching the crowd build up on the pianos just before the drop.

  • Dj Bigga G - Mind, Body & Soul

This one hasn’t left my crate since I was 15 when I started DJing. I have never seen this not work on the dance floor.

  • Ray Hurley - Just Yourself

Cheeky roller which came out on Confetti Records. Always have to play this one through to the second drop..

  • Atumpan - "The Thing" (Official Video)

I always use this one a test of how afrobeats will go down; if it blows up then I know I can go a bit deeper with the selection.

  • Dj Gregory And Sidney Samson - Dama S Salon (Dub Mix)

Tough funky house track adopted by the UK Funky crowd. Pounding drums and a cheeky riff!

  • Princess Nyah - Frontline

The pinnacle of vocal funky, Ill Blu’s production kills it.

  • Secondcity - 'I Wanna Feel' (Official Video)

I remember playing this the first time I played FM and there was so much love in the room. Pop house doesn’t get better than this.

  • Lil Silva - No Hooks

For me, the best record of Lil Silva’s funky material. The open square wave baseline sends any crowd nuts.
