Influences: Aethers Spring
Next month marks the release of a new EP from Aethers Spring, a mysterious producer and an undercover operator. There is little to no information known about the source of the secretive EP. From a musical perspective it dabbles and meanders between the ethereal fringes of ambient electronica whilst also tilts a nod of the hat to the abstract dancefloor. One for the heads with an intriguing narrative, it is a forward thinking body of music which channels an array of far flung, eclectic infuences into one concise package.
As such it seemed appropriate to challenge the roots and inspiration behind the musical taste of this mysterious artist, asking them to elaborate on the tracks and musicians who have helped to form the basis of their taste and hence own take on electronic soundscapes.

There is something precious and rare about an established act who neither grasps after young trends nor falls too far back on old formulas. With Third Portishead took their time in crafting something elegant and singular. The production is masterful; especially sublime in its textures and arrangement.
