Guest Editor’s Special Guest #2 – A Belgian Walk Under A Showering Rain By Nosedrip

Music

EDITOR'S NOTE: I only met Nosedrip or Ziggy as I know him, very briefly, but "people" will tell you that Ghent , and the shop he works in, Musicmania, is THE place. I have a special bond with Belgian music, may be because it's an endless well, because of my flemish origins., because of other things too I thought I w was pretty good until I met those guys.

Hence my heart rests somewhere between Ostende and London. Ziggy, Regis, Koenie, Geoffroy and many more have been the best guides over the years. Respect is due, wet love is a bonus. A playlist close to my sappy heart.

NOSEDRIP: I like to look at the most beautiful musical heritage of my country (Belgium) as an invisible (wo)man singing in the shower when nobody is l be around. The shower is a metaphor for endless rain, constant trouble with other human beings and not having  perspective nor ambition. The (wo)man is a metaphor for an interesting person/group floating in isolation, in a space limited by flattening mirrors, fluorescent lamps and indefinitely nothing else… So so bad, so so good.

48 Cameras - Murder In My Heart She Said

“I always told you Sam was a loser”… Fantastic pre-internet (still excisting) band with it’s heart in Huy and it’s musicians from the UK, Italy & Morocco…

  • 48 Cameras - Murder In My Heart She Said

“I always told you Sam was a loser”… Fantastic pre-internet (still excisting) band with it’s heart in Huy and it’s musicians from the UK, Italy & Morocco…

  • Absent Music - The Monkey House

Gonna share this one till it’s a global shower hit for people who are into this kind of music! “dwek wuggie all awound” delay delay… Good news coming up, spring 2017…

  • Bene Gesserit - Femmes Aux Yeux D'Argile

Super happy that I was able to make a compilation around my personal favorite Belgian musician & all the different projects he was involved in: Alain Neffe. Out on my birthday (4/11) via STROOM!

  • Dj Bert & Eagle - I Am Your Master

Some claim it’s Dutch, but it is definitely Belgian retarded craftsmanship! One day I entered the Onadisc studio in Varsenare with my mother and future wife and it was full of old people in wheelchairs!

  • Elisa Waut - Russia (1982)

It’s this tape version that does the trick. “Giving all my love to Russia” *Melting *Hearts over my head… Out to Bruhhe…

  • Marine A Proposito Dei Napoli

Or when Dracula was just a drunk farmers boy driving his bike after he failed on kissing Marieke during the local scouting ball.

  • Nightfall In Camp - Cada Dia

Pearls For The Swines in every way possible! Minimal beauty, maximal winner!

  • Polyphonic Size - Je T'Ai Toujours Aimée

    Shower hit!

  • Quiche Lorraine - Walk To Nowhere

This is beautiful drama created in the summer of 83 at the Belgian shore… “Your mind is full. Full of stress”… it also has the Macbook ‘putting volume down’ sound effect inside. Beautifully irritating for all those millennial assholes living in rooms surrounded by Ikea crap.

  • Siglo Xx - Autumn

A group influenced by the depressing industry that is working in a mine… Still relevant if you think differently about the concept of ‘mine’. That singing in the shower though.

  • Lè Travo - Amarcord

Haunting lonely symphony by Patrick Bollen, coming from the worst town in Belgium… In my opinion…
