Efdemin – Influences

Music

Head of the naïf and LirumLarum labels, Efdemin has been DJing and producing since 2005… But you probably already knew that. Based in Berlin, his brand of self-styled dance music has endeared him to audiences across Europe. Ahead of his official album launch on April 11th at Panorama bar, we had a chat to find out a bit more about what's influenced him. 'Decay' is out this week on Dial Records

Moodymann - Dem Young Sconies

This track is so good I want to play it in each of my sets – but haven’t done it in a while to save it from getting tired. Unbelievably deep acid techno monster with the ultimate groove.

  • Bodo Elsel - Fantasie Mädchen

Fantasiemädchen, Du rockst meine Welt. When this came out I had just started buying techno records seriously. A true gem. In my bag again!

  • Pan Sonic - Maa

The Album “A” by Pan Sonic opened a door into more abstract and dark music. This is pretty timeless music without any limitations.

  • Terrence Dixon - Minimalism

When I found out about detroit techno it was like a drug. I still consume it in heavy doses. Terrence Dixon is one of the masters of minimalism like this track shows. I’m glad he is very active once again these days.

  • Melody Boy 2000 - Monotone Fantastique

Kim Rapatti rocks it trippy here as Mono Junk. Amazing Analog Jam from the man from the north.

  • Pyrolator - True Love

Kurt Dahlke, the man behind Pyrolator, is a true genius and this is their best Album from 1981. I have listened to this countless times.

  • Silver Apples - Oscillations

I had the chance to see these guys perform live once in Hamburg. It was electrifying – although already 30 years after they invented this kind of krautrock-techno in 1976.

  • Raymond Scott - Twilight In Turkey

This man invented Techno in the 50s and had the coolest studio of all time. If you don’t know him, check out his visionary work.
