Audio Love is in the air once again, this week we turn our affections towards another clutch of beautiful assembled sounds, with captain of the love vessel – Joe Europe – back to lead us through the choppy waters….

Fort Romeau Her Dream (Live at Robert Johnson)

Live At Robert Johnson is something of an institution. The Frankfurt club come label have built themselves an impressive reputation for warm hearted, exquisitely curated house music and this new offering from Fort Romeau is everything youd expect from these guys. 

The three tracker opens with I Knew which is a slowly evolving, wonderfully loose chugger. The lazy rhythm has just enough impetus, and the piece builds carefully with a hooky of vocal and warm chords. Piquette follows similar lines with its simple and understated sound pallet. The EP rounds off with the slightly moodier edged title track. Simplicity, warmth and color rule the day here. (Joe Europe)

The Marx Trukker Couldnt See Too Clear for Edges (Pluie/Noir)

If you havent heard of the Marx Trukker then I suggest you acquaint yourself with his idiosyncratic, sometimes challenging, always refreshing sonic output quick sharp. Having released on a variety of labels over the past couple of years (including two mighty fine offerings on Greta Cottage Workshop) it felt about time that Mark embarked on a longer project and here it is. 

Working with the Pluie/Noir cross platform artist collective this 8 track album meanders from off kilter jazz, droney techno, densely textured slow jams and ambient asides.  Im not going to pick out highlights for you. Listen to the whole thing and lose yourself.

Taras Van De Voorde & David Vunke Need you Tonight (Moustache Records)

With these names these guys could only be from one place right? Dutch label Moustache Records gears up to drop a new release at the end of this month enlisting the aid of legend Alden Tyrrell and ROD to remix the original track from Taras Van De Voorde & label owner David Vunke. The original is a lush, driving techno monster but for me, its all about these two remixes and in particular Alden Tyrells. They both deconstruct the original, adding grit but keeping the warmth and feel. Aldens mix is an absolute killer. (Joe Europe)

Mirror People  Come Over (DiscoTexas)

While outside may look its usual hue of grey and depression and with blue  Monday recently striking to make a UK even more lethargic, this is one of the few legal things able to lift the murk.

With the kind of perfect timing of a repeat prescription happy doctor, we have new Mirror People material in our lives and its a sublime piece of audio sunshine. Showing off Maias healthy disregard for musical genre limitation, he ditches the 125bpms for a luscious piece of dream-pop. Featuring the smoky vocals of Iwona Skwarek (of Polish electro poppers Rebeka), Come Over is reminiscent of a love-in between Daft Punk & The Chromatics and manages to outshine both of them.

Fans of this should keep on eye out on Maias equally as impressive disco re-edit series: Obscure Disco, currently on the third release of 10, hes dusting down some serious gems, the end result of which will be as essential as Todd Terjes Remaster Of The Universe collection. (Chris Todd)
