8 Tracks: Of L.A. Punk Records With No Age

Following a five-year hiatus, Los Angeles noise-rock duo No Age returned earlier this year with Snares Like A Haircut, their fourth studio album and first for new label Drag City. Drawing on everything from distorted indie-pop to ambient squalls to classic hardcore, it's their clearest, brightest record to date.
Ahead of their performance at VISIONS festival this weekend, band members Dean Spunt and Randy Randall have put together this great list of raw, snotty, foundational L.A. punk records. From hardcore heroes Black Flag to under-the-radar art punks Suburban Lawns, dig in below.
VISIONS festival takes place this Saturday 4th August across various venues in London Fields, tickets available here.
Snares Like A Haircut is out now via Drag City, order it here.
Black Flag are the godfathers of LA punk, and ‘Damaged’ is a great album to start with if someone is curious.
