Joyce - Todos Os Santos - 1999

This was our first production together, so it’s very special for us, and this record has some excellent tunes like ‘Hard Bossa’ the title track. Its brilliantly well recorded.

Joyce – Hard Bossa FARO 034

  • Joyce - Todos Os Santos - 1999

  • Grupo Batuque 'Umbabaraumba-Ponta De Lanca Africana' [Far Out Recordings - Afro / Samba]

Check out the track ‘Keyzer’, written by Ivan Conti from Azymuth. This track features an all star line-up including Jose Roberto Bertrami, Jayme Allen, Wilson Das Neves, Jorge Helder, Fabio Fonseca, Leo Leblons, Tramique, Alberto Das Neves, Zezinho, Jesse, Don Chacal and many more. Its a killer, produced and mixed by Roc Hunter and I.

Grupo Batuque – Africa Brazil FARO 040

  • Sabrina Malheiros 'Connexão' [Far Out Recordings - Nu Bossa]

I wish I could get this track onto an advert or something to do with all this Brazilian stuff, people need to hear this fantastic song about Rio. Sabrina is a super star in the making. The horn and string arrangmeents are by Arthur Verocai.

Sabrina Malheiros – New Morning FARO 131

  • Azymuth 'In My Treehouse' [Far Out Recordings - Samba/Jazz/Funk]

Another samba jazz funk monster from the great band Azymuth, this classic track is well worth checking, taken from the last Azymuth original LP ‘Aurora’. The band just keep going from strength to strength and we have another new recording with Jose Roberto Bertrami still to come in 2015.

    Azymuth – Aurora FARO 157

  • Marcos Valle 'Poweride' [Far Out Recordings - Bossa Nova]

It is still a massive pleasure and honour to work with Marcos Valle. He is one of Brazil’s most talented songwriters, loved all over Brazil. I have chosen ‘Poweride’, produced by my old production partner and friend Roc Hunter. It was a real step into experimentation with Marcos’s music at the time and still stands the test of time. We also recorded many MPB tracks and LPs with Marcos, but this still stands out a little more.

Marocs Valle – Escape FARO 048

  • The Ipanemas 'Canto Pra Oxum (Song For Oxum)' [Far Out Recordings - Afro-Bossa]

A song written by Wilson Das Neves. It has been a pleasure to work with Wilson, on the Ipanemas records over the last 15 years. This is from the CD ‘Call of the Gods’, an amazing recording with production that was quite unheard for the time. In fact that goes for the CD as a whole, even though the band most recently toured the record back in 2010.

The Ipanemas – Call of the Gods FARO 127

  • Mauricio Maestro & Nana Vasconcelos 'Ancient Truth' [Far Out Recordings]

It was a pleasure to work with Mauricio, who had introduced me to another hero of mine: Nana Vasconcelos. He is an amazing arranger and composer and on this highly accalimed CD we have chosen the track Ancient Truth. It is more of an instrumental affair but it is an amazing piece of music from an excellent record.

Mauricio Maestro / w Nana Vasconcelos – Upside Down FARO 162

  • Otis Trio 'Seisquatro' [Far Out Recordings - Jazz]

This band from Sao Paulo are a recent signing. They’re amazing live and as a unit. This recording was a real pleasure to release and I feel the band will have a great future. They make a kind of jazz groove which is very special and unique and has a great feel of Sao Paulo, where the guys are based.

Otis Trio 74 Club FARO 178
