Producer and DJ unveils “Foundry” and “Bonita,” her most club-oriented material to date, ahead of 2026 album

London-based producer Yu Su is moving in a new creative direction with two singles that showcase her most dance-forward sound yet. “Foundry” and “Bonita,” arriving via Short Span Records, mark the first taste of a forthcoming album slated for spring 2026.

The two-track release weaves together warmly textured minimal techno, that highlights Yu Su’s attention to detail while pushing deeper into club territory. Field-tested throughout 2025 at festivals including Mutek, the tracks function as what the label describes as “exclamation points and decentred grooves” designed for the dancefloor.

“As promised, I am finally ready to share this two track 12″, the first singles off a new project I have been working on with Matthew Kent,” Yu Su shared in a statement, referencing the founder of Blowing Up the Workshop and Mana Records. “Matthew and I both think that Foundry and Bonita might be my ‘most dance-forward’ composition so far… well maybe if you have been watching me grow over the years as someone slowly discovering these tangled up roots underneath this quite big tree of dance music.”

The producer cited a musical discovery that shaped the new material: “Through a probably meant to be happenstance with a Luciano record earlier this year, I’ve gotten totally immersed in the sonic world of Baby Ford and Deadbeat, and my ears have never been the same since.”

Yu Su’s artistic practice has continued to evolve. Her Polyphonic Eating series, launched in 2022, has developed into an experimental approach to modern culinary environments that incorporates Pauline Oliveros-inspired deep listening techniques and multisensory theatrical elements in intimate settings.

Her recent relocation from Vancouver to London has also influenced her sonic perspective, contributing to the development of these releases. The tracks represent what the label calls “the bossier, growling end” of her forthcoming album’s full range, while maintaining the depth and sensitivity that have characterised her work.

“Foundry” and “Bonita” are out now on Short Span Records.
