Yasiin Bey, otherly known as Mos Def has announced that he will be releasing two final albums beyond his collaborative album with Chicago based producer Ferrari Sheppard.

In an interview with WNL Radio he announced that as well as the collaboration with Sheppard, under the Dec 99th moniker, he has also completed two albums that will be released in the near future.

It was announced at the end of November that Bey would be allowed to leave South Africa after being detained earlier in the year for having tried to leave the country with an unrecognised passport. He will now be listed as ‘an undesirable person’ and will not be granted access to South Africa again.

This news comes following Bey’s confirmation in October that he would be retiring at the end of this year, something he had alluded to in January in a recorded message posted on Kanye West’s website following his initial arrest.

Yasiin Bey will be playing a string of farewell shows this December: He said: “I will be premiering my new album, Negus In Natural Person, and me and Mannie Fresh’s project, which is called As Promised, at The Apollo on December 21”.

The final shows are in the Fox Theatre Oakland on the 9th, the Saban Theatre LA on the 13th, the Crest Theatre Sacramento on the 14th, the Apollo in New York on the 21st. Bey will then play three shows in The John F. Kennedy Center New York from the 31st of December to the 2nd of January.
