Vinyl Me, Please Announces Lee “Scratch” Perry As Album Of The Month
Vinyl Me, Please "the best damn record club" have announced Super Ape as the album for the month.
Super Ape is a 1976 classic album from reggae producer Lee "Scratch" Perry and his house band The Upsetters. It will be available exclusively to Vinyl Me, Please members as a special-edition pressing that includes translucent green vinyl and a custom Super Ape stencil.
Renowned Nigerian artist and MoMA inductee Lemi Gharickwu will be doing an original art print to accompany the album. Gharickwu is known as the King of Afro Pop Art and has previously produced album artwork for Fela Kuti and Bob Marley. To further accompany the album, a special cocktail recipe courtesy of Sean Kenyon from Williams & Graham in Denver, Colorado will be available.
