Power Vacuum celebrate 25th release with a V/A EP and cassette mix series
To celebrate their 25th release, UK-based label Power Vacuum have announced a run of three mix cassettes and an accompanying 6-track V/A EP that explore the sounds central to the label.
As a way to showcase their sweeping discography, producer and label boss Milo Smee AKA Bintus & Kruton has invited label mates Jerome Hill and Mark Broom, alongside himself, to create a mix of tracks from the back catalogue, with each DJ tackling a different style that has been core to the imprint.
While this run of cassettes charts the history, the accompanying V/A release looks to the future, pushing Power Vacuum’s sound into new realms. Techno forms the backbone of the release, in its many different forms, with 6 tracks from Chicago’s Beau Wanzer, Croatia’s Robert Merlak (as Remainder), Glasgow’s DAIYE, Finnish-Russian Mustatunturi, duo Nitro Cosmetic and Benzedrine Nightmare.
Power Vacuum launched in 2012 and has since released music from the likes of Objekt, EDMX, Cyclob and Mark Broom, blending together disparate strains of rave DNA and uniting hard dance veterans with a new generation of devotees.
POWERVAC025 will be out on 20th November. Pre-order HERE.
