paddy power criticized over pistorius bet ad

Paddy Power have had a cheap stunt blow up in their face after putting out an advert offering a ‘money back if he walks’ deal on the Oscar Pistorius’ murder trial.

The betting company had already offended all and sundry after opening up betting on a murder trial, and the ad just added fuel to the fire – with twitter awash with criticism and coverage in various papers, as well as the on line petition organisation Change having collected thousands of signatures demanding the bookies stop bets on the trial and publicly apologise for their gross insensitivity.

Pistorius is on trial for the murder of his girlfriend, Reeva Steenkamp, last February.
