object blue has announced a return to TT with a new audio-visual EP ‘Grotto’.

Due for release on Friday 5th March, the 5-track EP explores vibrant synth melodies and ornate percussion, matching lush and macabre moods through its play-like structure. The release is accompanied a unique virtual live show, ‘Grotto Live’, creatively directed by object blue and her wife and creative partner, Natalia Podgórska, which will visually explore and echo the drama of the EP.

Speaking about Grotto, object blue says: “Grotto is a stage. It’s not a soundtrack to an existing play, but whilst creating it I was thinking about the space we move in, the characters we play, the dialogues that happen. Grotto is a bit like if King Lear had been a millennial soap opera with a happy ending; it’s me sublimating my difficult relationship with the home. I could only envision “Procession of Healers” because I survived this weird drama and I can look at it from a distance, as I am happy now. I come to this theme time and time again, but especially now because we’ve all been quarantined in our homes, and we’ve experienced the erosion of spacial boundary in our lives.”

Since her breakthrough debut ‘Do you plan to end a siege?’ in 2018 on TT, object blue has become one of electronic music’s most crucial new artists, going on to release follow ups on Let’s Go Swimming and on Nervous Horizons Hyperaesthesia, alongside label boss TSVI last year. TT (FKA Tobago Tracks) was founded in 2014 as a record label and occasional events series that pushes at the boundaries of electronic music and has been home to the likes of Organ Tapes and Iceboy Violet.
