New Omar Souleyman Lp featurtes Fourtet, Legowelt & more

Syrian techno pop pioneer Omar Souleymann has announced details of his new album, touted as his second studio album 'proper', as opposed to the numerous compilations of his work previously released through labels such as Subliminal Frequencies.
The new LP, entitled Bahdeni Nami, will drop via Monkeytown Records on 24th July, and features a series of surprising electronic collaborations, with Fourtet, Gilles Peterson and Modeselektor all stepping up for production duties (we weren't, in all honesty, aware that Gilles Peterson was a producer…). Closing the album is a final surprise; a remix from Belgian electro producer Legowelt, which combines Souleymann's unique vocals with a stomping New Beat rhythm and some nasty bubbles of 303. All in all, Bahdeni Nami promises to be a further development in the career of a figure who has gone from strength to strength.
Bahdeni Nami is out via Monkeytown Records on 24th July.
