Kindness Collaborates With Kelela On New Single – Listen
Kindness' debut saw Adam Bainbridge smother his 80s indebted boogie with a thick layer of reverb and drone. If new stream 'World Restart' is anything to go by, Bainbridge is now willing to let his songwriting stand up in broad daylight. Dueting with the zeitgeist-y Night Slugs and Fade 2 Mind affiliate Kelela, Bainbridge has come up with a slab of skewed punk funk, rich with New Orleans and fat bottomed bass, and possibly his finest piece to date. Amongst the retro aesthetics there are flashes of unique production – from the backing tape deliberatly leaking through the vocal mic at a minute and a half in, to the kick drums rolling and clattering over themselves as the song progesses. The track is mooted as the opening cut from forthcoming album 'Otherness', due for release on October 13th – more info on the Kindness website.
