Kendrick Lamar teased fans last night as he released his first new material since ‘untitled. unmastered.’ called ‘The Heart Part 4’, which was dropped on streaming services, Spotify, Apple Music and Tidal.

Kendrick has used ‘The Heart’ track, in varied forms, prior to each of his other albums, and with the final line on this fourth edition he exclaims, Y'all got ‘til April the 7th to get y'all shit together". Stick it in your diaries, because this could be the release date.

Sparking further intrigue into the release was the rapper's use of Instagram — he deleted all posts, bar one uncaptioned image, the Roman numeral IV, again giving reason to speculate that Kendrick's fourth studio album, proper, is on its way.

Hip-hop producer, Alchemist, followed suit tweeting the ‘IV’ image, adding further mystery to fans into the entire story and whether he’s supplied his producing wizardry to the all but substantiated album.

The track itself is impactful split track, switching vibes three times, each time Kendrick switches up his flow and lyrical onslaught, which is astonishingly good. Whether April 7th is to be believed is unknown but the countdown has begun. Keep up to date with his empty Instagram account HERE
