John Talabot’s Hivern Label Signs House Experimentalists Init

Hivern Discs are kicking off their 2015 with an EP from a new, relatively unknown signing – Frankfurt based duo INIT. Made up of Nadia D’Alo and Benedikt Frey, the pair have preeviously been featured on on the title track of Massimiliano Pagliara’s 2014 LP Live At Robert Johnson. Frey’s cosmic, house experiments also appearing on the Japanese label Mule Musiq. Debuting on Hivern with a 5 track EP, INIT's sound is a murky haze of half heard white noise, plodding house beats, sprawling synth work, flashes of industrial menace and occasional folk-y vocals that sounds very much their own.
