Jesus & Mary Chain Tour Sold Out – Extra London Date Added

Anticipation is building for the forthcoming Jesus & Mary Chain tour. The brothers Reid have a run of dates through November to perform their opus  Psychocandy – and they have all sold out. As a result a new date has been added, taking place on Monday, November 24th in the Art Deco surroundings of the Troxy, Bethnal Green. Notorious in their heyday for inciting riots, having onstage punch ups, and performing 15 minute gigs, it seems fairly likely that the J&MC (and their core fanbase) will have put such shenanigans away some time ago, leaving fans free to enjoy the brain shattering volume of Psychocandy in (relative) peace.

Tickets for the Troxy show are also flying out – grab one from here to witness just how much age has mellowed a piece of chaotic, belligerent and beautiful rock history.

Meanwhile, there's a great interview in The Guardian with both teh Reid brothers in advance of the tour – with Kim Reid dropping gems such as “We hated the 1980s music scene… I mean, we detested it. The Mary Chain were more influenced by bad music than good. We did well out of that. We only started a band because we thought, ‘Why isn’t anyone else doing this?’” Read it over here
