Insult To Injury welcome Yuan for cassette release

For their next instalment, Insult To Injury welcome South London newcomer Yuan for the label's first ever cassette release.

The Ransom Note sub-label, helmed by Timothy Clerkin, serves up another round of mind-melting electronics on his Avance EP; a mash-up of the producer's diverse tastes, from acid lines and thumping drum workouts to dreamy synths and slo-mo rollers. On Avance, the three original tracks introduce the listener to Yuan's adept production abilities, backed up by a remix from Phantasy mainstay Ghost Culture, a writer behind several of the most important electronic records of the last decade.

Title track 'Avance' is driven by a gnarly 303 and heavy drum programming before 'A Weird Dream' takes things down a gear with chopped drum patterns and ravey pads. Yuan's final offering, 'The Trip Vol. 1' picks the pace up again with hazy synth lines, 909s and chirping bird sound, making way for Ghost Culture's remix; a chuggy acid-infected take on the title track.

This time round Timothy has chosen to go down the cassette route with a limited run of blue tapes set for release on 27th November, with the digital release to follow on the 6th December.
