Ellen Allien

Now extended from the version available on the album Dust, Our Utopie has evolved into a brittle stalactite valley of chiming cold wave. The ever reliable mistress of B Pitch has created a track that would sit as well on todays Euro minimal floors as it would amongst a stripped down set of classic New York No Wave. Over a musique concrete bedrock of haunted zephyrs and paradise-lost bird calls, the brutal yet restrained bass and drum kick, yearning, whispered vocals from Allien talk of Our Utopie, and the sinister ever present nursery like chiming of bells provides a nagging riff for dancefloor paranoia. If this is Utopia, then the serpent sounds like hes lurking just round the corner. Deep, dark, and great.
