Dark Entries Re-Issue Thomas Leer & Joe Crow Records

Music

Known for producing only the best quality vinyl imprints with signature hints of DIY 80s character, US label Dark Entries are at it again with a re-issue from two Post-Punk musicians Thomas Leer and Joe Crow. Both Leer's 'Private Planes/International' and Crow's 'Compulsion/Absent' Friends will expand from the original 7" format to 12" with bonus tracks along with never before seen photos and liner notes.

First released in 1978, 'Private Planes/International' sold out all 650 copies made after being named Single Of The Week by NME. Originally Leer recorded the single in his Finsbury flat using a TEAC A3440 4-track recorder and an ALICE mixing board. The new release has been remastered for vinyl by George Horn at Fantasy Studios in Berkeley and still holds the same dark and compelling Post-Punk fascination.

Possessing similar Post-Punk traits Crow began his career a little later, releasing 'Compulsion/Absent Friends' in 1982 via Cherry Red. The single made an appearance on compilation 'Pillows & Prayers' with Martin Gore of Depeche Mode later covering 'Compulsion'. George Horn has also had the pleasure of mastering Crow's tracks for the new re-issue.

Both will be available from the 28th of April. Pre-order 'Private Planes/International' and 'Compulsion/Absent Friends'
