Contemporary Pianist James Heather To Release Debut Album

Following a Glastonbury performance and the release of Modulations: EP 1, contemporary pianist James Heather is gearing up to release his debut album proper. Fans of Max Richter and Jóhann Jóhannsson would be well advised to take note.

Out 18th August on Coldcut's newly revived Ahead Of Our Time label, Stories From Far Away On Piano is a beautiful drift of stark, emotive piano pieces. The album is centered around Heather's interpretations of real world stories, which he channels when composing, covering everything from terrorism to false imprisonment.
