Ali Love Moscow Girl
A curiously anaemic nugget of italo pop from the perennially lurking Ali Love. Moscow Girl reaches for the stars with loads of elements that sound like good pop choices on paper– 80s references abound; in the drums and the arpeggios, the whooshing sounds and the camp cold war-ish lyrics, but like the tinman, the arms and legs are present and correct, it just that no one bothered to stick in a heart. Its a shame because the quality of production is really high, the references are on point, and it sounds like there is a great song waiting to come from Love in this vein, but, til that track comes, his influences remain towering stronger than his own stamp upon them.
