The inaugural edition of the festival will take place in Albania next month.

ION Festival will touch down in Albania on the 7th of September bringing with it an eclectic assortment of forward thinking DJ’s from across the breadth of house, techno and beyond.

The line up consists of legends and newcomers alike, offering their take on dance and electronic music in an exotic sun kissed setting on the coast. Set across a number of locations the festival will host a number of stages from beach parties to coves, yacht clubs, bunkers and forts – the festival promises to offer an unrivalled experience for ravers and dancers seeking something new.

One of the team behind the event, Jeff Gray, revealed his upcoming excitement at the prospect of making ION a reality in 2022.

“When we are started to bring our vision for ION Festival to life, we wanted to make sure each music location had its own, unique vibe with a distinct music programme to match.

From the open-air hedonism of our Main Stage and The Deck, to the depths of The Bunker, the intimacy of The Cove, to The Yacht Club’s slick terrace, we feel we have fine-tuned our lineup with exceptional attention to detail. And that’s all before we get to the additional experiences that we know will provide some of the most incredible spots to experience electronic music anywhere in the world.”

Ahead of the festival we have hand picked some of they key artists set to appear at the festival..

Batu

Arguably one of the most exciting DJ’s to emerge from the UK of late. An innovative, free thinking artist who continues to defy preconceptions and challenges the notion of ‘genre’ in each and every way. As a producer he often takes a deconstructed approach, unpicking the elements which have defined club culture for so long and reinventing them. His label Timedance is perhaps one of the most interesting in electronic music at the moment.

  • JASSS

Born and raised in Asturias in Northern Spain, Jasss has since moved to Berlin and has released music on the likes of Never Sleep, Ostgut Ton, AD93 and Mannuequin amongst others. This might indicate the degree of pedigree her music withstands. Wild noisy techno excursions meets mutant electro and abstract sound designs. Her free flowing DJ sets could end up anywhere and that’s what makes her unique.

  • Radioactive Man

An underground legend who has been influential in the progression and development of Electro music in the UK. He is now finally being credited and sung praises for years of tireless and committed work to a sound he’s always loved. Not one to bow to trends or pretentious extravagance his sets are classy, well coordinated and designed to take you on a journey.

  • Manami

A relative newcomer but an artist with a bright future. Her debut EP recently came out on Viscera and was met with critical acclaim. She channels elements of nu trance and cosmic, space inspired house music leading dancers on a bouncey, energetic ride through wild styles and sounds.
