Curses has revealed ‘Next Wave Acid Punx TROIS’ alongside new single ‘Crown of Ruin’, with the 46-track final instalment set to land on 4th June via Eskimo Recordings.

Since 2021, Luca Venezia, aka Curses, has been using the ‘Next Wave Acid Punx’ series as a kind of personal archive, mapping the records that shaped him long before he became a fixture in the club circuit. The first two chapters traced a line from late 70s industrial and post-punk through the rise of EBM, new beat and freestyle in the 80s, before folding into the sounds he plays and produces today.

‘Next Wave Acid Punx TROIS’ brings that journey full circle. This final volume returns to the music that first pulled him into Brooklyn’s early 90s rave ecosystem, when genres didn’t sit still long enough to be named properly and everything felt like it was happening at once.

Spread across three 2LPs and 3CDs, the compilation captures that blurred moment where industrial electronics met rave euphoria head-on. Techno, breakbeats, ambient and proto-trance colliding in warehouses from New York to London, Frankfurt and Valencia, not as separate styles but as a shared language in flux. The result is a document of chaos that still feels strangely coherent in hindsight.

There are 46 tracks here, ranging from Model 500’s Detroit futurism to Nitzer Ebb’s stripped EBM pulse, and early trance signals from Age of Love, alongside newer interpretations from artists like Digitalism, Leona Jacewska, Andi & Kendal, Zaatar and Italo Deviance. It never quite settles, which feels intentional.

Curses opens the set with his own “Crown of Ruin”, a darkly euphoric cut that sets the tone for what follows. The series closes not as a summary, but as a reminder that those early collisions are still echoing, just in different forms now.
