8 Tracks: Of Producers From Northern Ireland With Ejeca

Music

Belfast producer Ejeca is back this month with his Unknown To The Unknown debut! The Attack EP marks the 7th volume in the label's Dance Trax series, and consists of three originals plus a bangin' Matrixxman remix.

In advance of the release, Ejeca has put together this great 8 Tracks playlist for us, consisting strictly of producers (and one band) from his home of Northern Ireland. From Phil Kieran to Boxcutter, get stuck in below…

Attack is out 8th December on Unknown To The Unknown. Order it here.

Bicep - Celeste

I would say this is the best music to come from the UK at the moment – a great balance of subtlety and melody.

I would say this is the best music to come from the UK at the moment – a great balance of subtlety and melody.

  • Boxcutter - Moon Pupils

Barry is a real boundary pusher, this is one of his less mind-bendy ones!

  • Bloom - Quartz

Terry is the only grime producer I know from Ireland. He doesn’t release much but when he does it always stands out. He most recently remixed Bjork.

  • Phil Kieran - I Love You

Phil still releases absolute corkers. His older faster techno stuff still goes a treat, such a bassline in this.

  • Coast 2 Coast Feat. Discovery - Home

Gleave Dobbin & Phil Johnston. This one was part of Tiesto’s early ‘In Search of Sunrise 2’ compilation, it hits a huge nostalgic nerve, the slightly Celtic vocals get me. I play it on the plane when I’m heading back home.

  • Hi-Gate - Caned And Unable

This was Paul Masterson from Bangor and Judge Jules, they’ve made a a few bangers. I love the main riff that comes in after the breakdown, unpredictable and catchy at the same time.

  • Calibre - No Reply

Has to be recognisged as one of the best drum & bass producers in the world, you could probably pick one of fifty tracks but this is my selection.

  • The Undertones - Teenage Kicks

We don’t just do electronic music!
