We here at R$N Towers aren't the most educated people when it comes to Danish music, none of us appear to have a speck of Scandinavian blood running through our veins – not strictly true it seems, Wil's now just piped up that he's got Nordic origins somewhere… but we digress. However, Kasper Bjorke knows a thing or two about his native land so we thought that there was no-one better than he to guide us through the sounds of Denmark with simply a selection of 8 Tracks at his disposal.

He knows his music so well that he's even picked a track that isn't on YouTube yet – here are his thoughts on 'Try' by Liss;

"These young lads from Aarhus (2nd biggest city in Denmark) who haven't even finished high school yet. They started a band not long ago and they only have this one song on Soundcloud. Now some very interesting labels from the UK are fighting to get their hands on them… I wish them all the luck the world, they surely have the potential to be huge."

Away (Turbotito Remix)

This brand new single from Reptile Youth marks a new sound for Mads Damsgaard Kristiansen. He just came back from three months of writing songs in LA and a new EP is out in June. This is the Turbotito remix. Turbotito is the moniker for Danish musician Filip Nicolic, also known as one half of LA based band Poolside…I think its pretty epic and a great summer track.

Coming out on True Panther Records from NYC, this guy’s already made it. Amazing new track from the EP.
Brynjolfur: Time

Rising Danish disco prince, hailing from the Faroe Islands…This is in my ears his best track to date. Debut album should be on the way…
Masselinjen - Kliche

One of my favourite tracks from the 80s by Danish band Kliche. Its new wave/kraut with a wonderful repetitive vocal line, which translates into: “the people and only the people, is the driving force, in the creation of the history of the world”.
The Seebach Band - Bubble Sex - 1977

This track is from 1977. The very famous Danish artist Tommy Seebach sadly passed away some years ago and was mostly known and loved for his very commercial easy listening radio and Eurovision contest songs – with Danish vocals. This track however, and the other side of the 12” Apache, is pure awesomeness – I have played this out a lot during the years…
Going To Texas

One of the most ambitious Nordic motion pictures of 2015,’The Idealist’, a Cold War-set political thriller, has just premiered to high applause. I did a remix of one of the tracks from the amazing soundtrack by the multitalented composer Jonas Struck.
