Man Attacked At Parklife Festival Dies

Robert Hart, the 26 year old assaulted during  Manchester's Parklife Festival, has died in hospital. According to the Manchester Evening News, Hart collapsed after receiving a punch to the head from an unknown assailant. Hart had been waiting at the main stage to watch Snoop Dogg, where he got into an altercation with his attacker after the man repeatedly hit Hart's girlfriend with an inflatable plastic toy.  Police have launched an investigation, treating the situation as a potential murder case, and releasing an eFit of the attacker (see below).

The Parklife Weekender has been running since 2010, with this years event attracting 60,000+ people to see the likes of Snoop, Disclosure, and Rudimental. The organisers released the following statement earlier today:

“Everyone involved in Parklife is devastated by today's deeply sad announcement. Our sincerest and heartfelt condolences go out to Robert's family and friends at this difficult time. We will continue to assist Greater Manchester Police with its investigation and urge anyone that may have witnessed the incident to contact the Police through any official channel available to them.”
