Comedy slice #65
Well, Happy Valentine’s week to you all. Now stop smooching that stranger and let’s get on with some comedy selections.
Saturday 15th // School Supper Society // Central Foundation Boys School // 45
First up for this week is slightly off-piste with it not strictly being a comedy night but how could you resist this beauty of an evening? It’s got everything you could ever want or need to woe The One (or to forget about them) an evening of entertainment and dining with a menu that will make you drool so much you may need to rehydrate before you get to the desserts. Of course our favourite thing comedy is here in abundance as Chastity Butter Worth hosts and with FringeWorld Award winner Marcel Lucont and tap dancing Jenny Fawcett all on the bill too. Theres author Natalie Young and music too from Chaps Choir and Anne Denholm but well be there for the comedy (and food). Did I mention its in a school? Should be pretty obvious from the name reallyIf you do nothing else this month go to this.
Tuesday 18th // Shh! I’m Laughing // Bethnal Green Working Men’s Club // 6
Hitting Tuesday in the face is Bethnal Green Working Men’s Club regular comedy Shh! I’m Laughing. Like an awarding winning sheep dog they have rounded up a selection rather fabulous comedians and herded them all to BGWMC for our delight. On the bill is BBC New Comedy Award finalist Mark Silcox, Holly Burn, Dan Lees, James Ross, Robin & Partridge and Adam Drake. To keep the rabble under control is regular host Joey Bartram. Enough comedy packed in there to feast upon for a while.
Wednesday 19th // Suzy Bennett – Dancing on Thin Ice // Leicester Square Theatre // 5
Suzy Bennett has a passion, that some may say goes beyond an obsession, with Torvill and Dean. In her four star Edinburgh show Bennett shares her devotion to the ice-skating superstars with us and the quest to fulfil her dreams of dancing with her idols – all is laid bare in this hilarious one woman show of devotion. And lets face it were all a little fascinated with the T&D arent we? So give in to the guilty pleasure, feed your fascination with this show all about the skating wonde
