Oval Space Cinema To Show John Carpenter Classic The Thing

For those feeling like a blast of ice cold body horror, tomorrow night (Feb 23rd) Oval Space over in Hackney are showing John Carpenter's masterpiece The Thing. A remake of the 50s B Movie The Thing From Another World, Carpenter's gruesome telling of a shapeshifting alien slaughtering it's way through an Arctic research centre ramped up the Reds-under-the-bed communist panic underpinning the original to create a parable of American paranoia that is just as relevent today; what happens when you can't tell who the monster is? What happens when the monster could be anyone?
Tickets for the screening are £7, with doors opening at 7.15pm, and the film starting at 7.45pm. more details available from the Oval Space website.
