Branchage Festival 2014

Art & Culture

For the first time since 2011, Branchage Festival returns for its fifth edition this year, taking place from 24th – 28th September on the island of Jersey, with film screenings, live music, comedy and spoken word events, educational talks, food events and parties taking place in an array of historic, eccentric and picturesque locations across the island.

World-renowned fashion designer agnés b will be joining the festival as a guest curator with a French and foreign film strand. Famous for designing beautiful clothing influenced by her love of black and white films, her suits were featured in Quentin Tarantino’s Reservoir Dogs and Pulp Fiction. Her love of cinema is well documented and her movie production credits include Spring Breakers whilst this year releasing her directorial debut Je M’Appelle Hmmm.

Making a return to the live music scene, with stops off at Glastonbury and Bestival en route to Branchage are the formidable Radiophonic Workshop, perhaps best known for composing the iconic Doctor Who theme tune. They are set to curate a strand of music-related films and founding member Dr Dick Mills will be leading an exclusive foley art masterclass. They will also close the festival with a specially commissioned, never-before-seen audiovisual show, details of which will be announced in the coming weeks.

There are plenty more delights to be seen at this year's Branchage Festival as it keeps Jersey firmly planted of the map of cultural highlights.

Branchage Festival takes places from 24th-28th September in St Aubin’s Village, Jersey. For more information and tickets, see the official website.
