World’s First Ever Grime Roller Disco Announced

Art & Culture

Grime. Rollerskates. Not two things that immediately spring to mind as happy bedfellows. However, it seems the guys over at Butterz have different ideas. The label, run by Rinse FM champions and tireless grime ambassadors Elijah & Skilliam, is set to bring the world it's first ever grime themed roller disco, taking over a newly built space in Hackney Wick to provide a 12 hour marathon of hyped up beats, rattling bass bins, gun finger salutes, and (presumably) really short shorts & occasional sprained ankles.

Taking place on September 20th, Jamz (as the event is called) will see Elijah & Skilliam joined by Swindle, Royal-T, Flava D, Spyro, Spooky, Mr Mitch and more. They're taking over the newly opened Shapes, and running from 12pm – 12am – if you start skating from the moment the doors open, you might have some chance of being less of a malcoordinated wreck by the time most people show up.

Check the flyer below, tickets start at £8 and include skate hire. More info on the Jamz facebook event
