Art & Culture

The celebrated, forward thinking arts and culture festival will take place between the 25th and 28th of August later this summer and will feature 120 programmed performances, talks, dj sets, readings, art exhibitions and more.

Taking place at Kulturbrauerei, in both indoor and outdoor spaces, the festival is described as having placed focus on the theme of ‘Breakaways and New Connections’. This is described as follows:

“Collective approaches, post-migrant identities, intersectional discourse, inclusive projects, diasporic narratives, queer positions and breakaways from musical expectations all help create a space for mutual exchange.”

Key musical performances come from the likes of Erika de Casier and LAYLA whilst a number of artists are working on newly commissioned work such as Discovery Zone, Apex Anima and All diese Gewalt aka Max Rieger.

Katja Lucker had the following to say about the significance of this years festival.

“It has been our ambition to further open up the festival, serving as a model and helping set new standards that are long overdue.”
