Legendary New York house master Dennis Ferrer, graces SPL with his presence on 2nd July. One of the most well-rounded of songwriter/producers and a forerunner for the new school movement of House, Dennis past arsenal has ranged from Afro-House to ambient to gospel to straight up techno. Launching his career in the early 90s as a techno producer and putting out records under the Synewave label, he later hooked up with Kerri Chandler and formed Sfere Recordings in 1998. Further down the line hes been awarded Best Deep House Artist of 2009 by Beatport, and went onto release the piano driven summer smash “Sinfonia Della Notte” on Strictly Rhythm as well as the Grammy nominated “Hey Hey” for Objektivity in the same year, the latter reaching no. 1 at Beatport, Juno and at Black Market in Soho, London. An avid record collector and DJ for nearly 20 years, Simon Baker has established himself as a connoisseur of the deeper realms in electronic dance music with a twist. After his 2004 debut release The Lip Trick, the UK artist went on to release a string of cuts and remixes on labels such as Playhouse, Infant Records and 2020Vision, the latter being the label that recently presented Simons debut album Traces.
